Lock or Unlock a PDF
Drop a PDF and the tool sees whether it is already protected. An unprotected file gets a password; a protected one can be saved without it once you enter the right password.
- Add password: Anyone who opens the file must enter the password. The file is encrypted with AES-256.
- Permissions: Choose whether printing, copying text and images, and editing are allowed for people with the password.
- Remove password: Enter the current password and download an unprotected copy, handy for files you open every day.
- Restrictions only: Some PDFs open without a password but block printing or copying. Leave the password field empty to save a copy without those restrictions.
